2019-2020 School Year News:

Parent Participation Program News:

Thanks to PPP donations, we are delighted to share the following contributions to the Noble School community:

On October 8th, 2019, Mrs. Bettencourt's 3rd grade PPP class represented Noble School by singing 3 songs from "Pirates of Penzance" for the BUSD school board at their meeting.

Mrs. Bettencourt's 3rd grade class will be performing with members of the San Francisco Opera to present "The Pirates of Penzance" on October 10th, 2019 at our school. The first show is at 9:15am, second show at 10:15am. Gilbert and Sullivan wrote the comic opera about a gang of pirates in the late 1880's. Two performances will be presented so that every class can enjoy the performance.

On October 15th, 2019, Ms. Wilbank’s PPP class sponsored the grade wide workshop Marble Works by Schmal science workshops for all kindergarten classes. Our kids learned about gravity, potential, and kinetic energy. Students designed and constructed marble mazes with ramps, connectors, funnels and tunnels.

Then on October 23rd, 2019, Ms. Low’s 2nd grade class from the prior school year (2018-2019) is sponsoring the STEAM Museum assembly, a Portable Hands-On Museum presented by Mobile Ed Productions. Presentations will be done by grade level in FIS space throughout the day.  Thank you to Ms. Low's 2018-2019 class for funding this great experience and a BIG thank you to all parents who volunteered to run stations.

On November 15th, Ms. Low’s 2nd graders is sponsoring grade wide field trip including transportation on chartered school buses for 2nd graders to attend the performance of “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” at the Children’s Musical Theater in San Jose. The 2 hour performance will give students greater exposure to Visual and Performing Arts and foster a love and appreciation of musical theater.

On Feb. 4th, 2020 the 2nd grade PPP class is gifting a Schmahl Science workshop called “Kapla Block Engineering” to both 2nd-grade classes. In the workshop, students will learn about forces, the center of gravity and the importance of a wide-base in structures using Kapla Blocks.

PPP Director Mina Tai and teachers helped coordinate Santa Clara Valley Water District for the entire school. All 17 Noble classes were able to learn about water conservation and being good stewards of our local water resources.

All 4 PPP classes sponsored the purchase of additional books to be used as part of Project Cornerstone for all classrooms at Noble. These books will be used throughout the year as part of the Cornerstone lessons.

PPP classes continue to need your volunteer hours to help foster those collaborative learning opportunities for our kids. Please sign up to volunteer today!
